As graduate students, we commonly receive emails about submitting an essay to present at a conference. But how do we respond? What are conference organizers looking for? How do I present at a conference?

The CGSA is hosting a seminar for graduate students on Thursday, February 4^th at 6pm, in KED B004. Professor Peruvemba Jaya will be discussing how to respond to call for papers (CFP) and conference presentation skills.

If you have a call for papers you are thinking of responding to, bring a copy and Professor Jaya will answer your questions about that specific CFP.

Where: KED B004

(585 King Edward Avenue, building across from Department of Communication)

When: Thursday, February 4^th 6-8pm

Refreshments will be served.

Reminder: Food donations needed!

Please help us out. The CGSA is organizing a food drive to support the Ottawa Food Bank. Last year was a success as we raised over 150 lbs of food, 50 lbs over our goal. This year will be bigger and better than ever! We have raised our goal for this year to 150 pounds of food. Again this year, the CGSA executive will match contributions made to the drive.

Please drop off any food at either location: 200 Wilbrod Street or 554 King Edward. There are boxes set-up for your donations.

Hidden resources seminar

Hey everyone,

The CGSA has organized the first graduate seminar this year, titled Hidden Resources on Campus.

Wondering where to find resources on campus for graduate students? Representatives from the Graduate Mentoring Center and Academic Writing Help Center will be answering your questions about resources available for graduate students.

Date: Tuesday, October 27th, 2009
Time: 6-7pm
Place: Morriset 05
